Our client is a Multi-million dollar per year privately held company in the
manufacturing business. They have been in business since 1993 and have been
dedicated to providing world class products and services that improve
performance, size, simplicity and value for rotating machinery. They also have
national and international recognition for their innovative products. This small
and growing company is a joy to work for with lots of team enthusiasm, fun
work environment, new facility, and a sleeves rolled up management style.
Salem has a population of 25,000 and is in the suburbs of Roanake, VA where
old time values still exist and the fabulous mountains of West Virginia are
nearby.

Position Description:

The Director of Strategic Marketing is responsible for developing sustainable processes to enable market penetration in our target market segments. This includes initiatives in market and competitive analysis, lead generation, strategic pricing and quantification of our value proposition and future product development opportunities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Leads the development of marketing strategies and plans for the company.
o Defining, quantifying, and prioritizing market segments
o Conduct quantitative analysis on pricing models, price elasticity, market saturation, and our value to customers
o Interface closely with sales, strategy, operations and R&D to help prioritize new product features and offerings and refine marketing strategy.
o Provides insight and consultation on the business’ selling strategy.
• Builds market research and analytical capabilities within the organization.
o Assures market and competitive intelligence is gathered and analyzed to identify and capitalize on market opportunities.
o Develops a solid understanding of customer needs and perceptions in our market space as well as in relevant adjacencies.
o Evaluates market reaction and performance of implemented programs and ensures the timely adjustment of strategies to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
o Continuously supports the quantification of the value proposition of our products in different applications.
• Leads product management efforts to specify, develop and launch new products and services and manages the life cycle of existing products.
• Work closely with the business development team to develop and execute a marketing plan that supports lead generation targets for specific market segments and geographies.
• Maintain a safe working environment and a commitment to safety excellence.


QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements below are the minimum requirements an employee needs to fulfill this position. They are representative of the knowledge, skills and ability required for the position.

Must hve experience in the rotating machinery or energy conversion industries !!

Education:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business, MBA preferred.

Required Experience
•8+ years in business development activities within a B2B manufacturing environment.
•Strong analytical and project management skills, hands-on approach to drive projects to completion and meticulous attention to detail.
•Proven creative ability in developing and executing marketing plans and programs that have achieved growth and expansion of a company’s products and services.
•Experience in strategic planning/consulting background.
•Strong presentation skills.
•Strong interpersonal and customer relationship skills.
•Ideal candidate would have "leading edge" technology marketing experience.

Language
Must be able to read, write and speak English.

Compensation:
•Base salary $110,000 TO $120,000 + depending on experience plus up to a 20% of base salary bonus
•Company paid Medical, Dental and Life Insurance

Compensation Package: Base salary range: $110,000 to $120,000 plus a 20% of base salary bonus.
